Several years ago, Blessi was one of Icelandic horses at the Mane Event in Albany OR. I left the stall area to fetch myself a cup of tea.When I came back to the barn, several people were crowded around Blessi's stall. As I got closer, I overheard one say, "Do you think he's dead?"I ran up to Blessi's stall to see what was happening. Blessi was just taking his normal mid-morning nap--all stretched out on his side-- regardless that it was a busing Saturday at the horse expo with thousands of people visiting the horses.
I wish I had had the presence of mind to riff off the Monty Python Dead Parrot Skit. "No he's not dead, he's just pining for the Fjords."
